Book Review of Its ends with us by Colleen Hoover

About The Book

SOMETIMES THE ONE WHO LOVES YOU IS THE ONE WHO HURTS YOU THE MOST

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up – she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, and maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily, but Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan – her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

Book Review

“There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things.”
― Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Its ends with us is a book you will not be ready for, you won’t know what hit you, you won’t realise you are in a car with a reckless driver until you fall into a ditch. That was how it felt, the weight of the book slammed into me unexpectedly.

It shook me to the depth, I could taste the sadness, the delicate decisions to be made,  at the tip of my tongue.

It is a love story turned sour twice, maybe thrice. It shows how our lack of self control can cost us a beautiful future.

“You can stop swimming now, Lily. We finally reached the shore.”
― Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Lily bloom the main character falls in love for real for the second time and settles down with the man of her dreams, the man I loved with her, they were just so sweet. I Loved their love. But then life happens and lily’s nightmare, lily’s childhood horror is back at her doorstep and it is impossible to get away from it, she now understands her mother, and every other women that has been in her shoes. How they felt and how hard it was for them to make a decision.

“I’ll keep pretending to swim, when really all I’m doing is floating. Barely keeping my head above water.”
― Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

Ryle was a disappointing character, I grew to love him but he shattered my heart to pieces. I just could not handle how much he broke my heart. So hurtful.

Its ends with us is a  book I will carry in my mind for a long time. I connected very much with all the characters especially the main characters. Colleen Hoover is a Writer who puts the reality in fiction. She makes it feel so real that its as if you are seeing someone else’s life story, feeling all they feel, making decisions with them. After reading 3 of her books, I am planning to read the others too because her books give serious hangovers.

Its ends with us will show you the reality of most relationships and the sacrifices people make or should make for one another.

And it also shows the different ways a mother can sacrifice for her daughter’s future and the different outcomes they bring.

“Cycles exist because they are excruciating to break. It takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt a familiar pattern. Sometimes it seems easier to just keep running in the same familiar circles, rather than facing the fear of jumping and possibly not landing on your feet.

My mother went through it.

I went through it.

I’ll be damned if I allow my daughter to go through it.

I kiss her on the forehead and make her a promise. “It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us.”
― Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

I am still so sad for this story, though there are a lot of fun and Joy in it too, and it also has a good ending, but the process is overwhelming.

It ends with us by colleen hoover has my 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars.
