About The Book
The Voss family is anything but normal. They live in a repurposed church, newly baptized Dollar Voss. The once cancer-stricken mother lives in the basement, the father is married to the mother’s former nurse, the little half-brother isn’t allowed to do or eat anything fun, and the eldest siblings are irritatingly perfect. Then, there’s Merit.
Merit Voss collects trophies she hasn’t earned and secrets her family forces her to keep. While browsing the local antiques shop for her next trophy, she finds Sagan. His wit and unapologetic idealism disarm and spark renewed life into her—until she discovers that he’s completely unavailable. Merit retreats deeper into herself, watching her family from the sidelines, when she learns a secret that no trophy in the world can fix.
Fed up with the lies, Merit decides to shatter the happy family illusion that she’s never been a part of before leaving them behind for good. When her escape plan fails, Merit is forced to deal with the staggering consequences of telling the truth and losing the one boy she loves.
“Poignant and powerful, Without Merit explores the layers of lies that tie a family together and the power of love and truth.”

Book Review
“Not every mistake deserves a consequence. Sometimes the only thing it deserves is forgiveness.”
Am falling in Love with Collen Hoover’s works every step of the way, this is Her second book am reading and I Loved the first book (Ugly Love) and I definitely Love Without Merit.
Colleen had a way she wrote this book that at first, like the main character, you will judge everybody in the book and tell them to eat trash, well not until you get to know them, and also look from their point of view, then you’ll feel like you have been wrong all along.
This book wasn’t what I was expecting at all, it exceeded my expectations. (This is not really a spoiler but, to me it would have been) knowing that Merit was the name of the Main character was very surprising for me, and it got me more interested in the book. I thought it was going to be those books with cliche titles, but Thank God it wasn’t.
Without merit is a book about Merit’s Family, A family filled with hatred caused by so many secrets. which Merit knew most of, she is a girl disturbed by the lack of attention she got from her family, bad memories they had given her and the dark secrets they plummeted in her heart.
Until a guy came along, (I wanted to stop reading from the first page, colleen totally started the book in a confusing way, because when I read a book and it can’t relate it to any form of reality, it is a red alert for me, But I decided to keep going and then I realized that it was a start of a new and beautiful adventure —for me).
He was the only person that made her heart beat thrice harder and the only person she wanted to avoid the most, he would also draw peculiar things that were strange to her, that aroused her suspicions and also made her like him some days and hate him other days.
The Dollar Voss Family is a queer family that consists of an atheist, and agoraphobic, a necrophilic and other interesting characters that will make you conclude that they are the most disturbed family you’d ever know. True.
Until dark secrets were brought to light and Merit realised that all this while she had thought she needed a hug, she didn’t know she should have given it too.
You will not expect a book such as this to recognise God’s sovereignty, but it did. And I Love that so much.
Am still Hung over this book, I wish it was a series, I wish it didn’t finish, I wish I could be a part of the world, I wish I could get a new chapter of it everyday, But I think it ended perfectly, leaving behind answered questions that you get to fix in by yourself, and a revolutionized thinking and change of feelings for each and every character.
You have to read this World Of Wonder.
Without Merit, you have my 4.6 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐?
