About Book
Susanna Truitt never dreamed of a great romance or being treated like a princess—just to marry the man she has loved for twelve years. But life isn’t going according to plan. When her high-school-sweetheart-turned-Marine-officer breaks up instead of proposing, Susanna scrambles to rebuild her life.
The last thing Prince Nathaniel expects to find on his American holiday to St. Simon’s Island is the queen of his heart. A prince has duties, and his family’s tense political situation has chosen his bride for him. When Prince Nathaniel comes to Susanna’s aid under the fabled Lover’s Oak, he is blindsided by love.
Their lives are worlds apart. He’s a royal prince. She’s an ordinary girl. But everything changes when Susanna receives an invitation to Nathaniel’s coronation. It’s the ultimate choice. His kingdom or her heart? God’s will or their own?
My Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
“We make our plans, but God directs our steps.”
Susanna just had her heart broken by the man she had dated for 12 years. An expected proposal had ended up being a break up, as adam tells her he is in love with someone else.
You know, this book actually opened up my mind to the fact that we can actually get so comfortable with someone so much that we think its love. Which was what susanna and adam had, susanna was the girl who always had a plan, little did she know that God had greater and better plans for her.
Susanna soon meets Prince Nathaniel who has no hope of marrying her given the tradition of his kingdom. But soon he falls in love with her,, which is to the detriment of Nathaniel’s kingdom and long standing tradition.
Susanna now without a plan, is unable to admit she loves Nathaniel, until his holiday ended.
All seemed like it was over, but God had something else in store for them. Prince Nathaniel’s mother and brother decides to invite Susanna to the prince’s coronation ball, so as to make her feel out of place and know that her place was not in the kingdom. And then God used this opportunity to show his sovereignty.
“Sometimes it does a chap’s heart good to rescue a beautiful woman. Makes him remember why God rescued him.”
This book showed me trust, in God, in ourselves, in people who least deserve our trust. It also made me realise that sometimes, when we lose hope and believe nothing great can come out of us, we tend to settle for less.
There is also the interesting crazy woman, who popped up from time to time to strengthen Susanna’s faith in God and also to hint me that something exciting is coming up next in the book.
A Book filled with Love, Trust, Faith, Hope and Choice. I really enjoyed this book and you can bet I read it in a short while.
“Lord, here we are, Nate and me. One hundred percent available. We don’t know what’s ahead, but you do. Whatever it is, we’ll love it because you love us. And you are good.”
